AAD exhibitor list growing
Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) 2016 is still seven months away and exhibition organisers are already reporting more than 50 contracted exhibitors, including local defence industry leaders Denel and the Paramount Group. The 2016 edition of Africa’s largest aerospace, defence and allied security interests opens for business on September 14 at AFB Waterkloof in Centurion. Indications at this stage are AAD this year will attract around 450 exhibitors from 30 countries. In addition a large number of South African defence industry visitors another 30 000 visitors are expected to descend on the air force base from Africa, Europe and ever further afield. Fourteen national pavilions are an integral part of AAD 2016 and indications are the African Union will exhibit its range of services for the first time. A delegation profile created by AAD organisers is topped by ministers of defence, followed by defence secretaries and then come chiefs of armed forces, armies, air forces and navies. Acquisition and procurement officials are also expected to attend in numbers.
