SA ARMY COMBAT RIFLE SHOOTING EVALUATION:  6 TO 12 MARCH 2016  DE BRUG  BLOEMFONTEIN

 

BACKGROUND

 

The Chief Directorates and the SA Army Formations as tasked,  in cooperation with the South African  Army Reserve Shooting Association (SAARSA) were to prepare and present the tenth SA Army Combat Rifle Evaluation in March 2016.

PROGRAM FOR NISC 2016

 

  • The team will depart from OR Tambo airport the evening of 5 October 2016.

  • Arrive in Amsterdam 6 Oct 16 and proceed to Harskamp Military Base.

  • Participate in the competition 7 to 9 Oct 16.

  • Return to Amsterdam 9 Oct16.

  • Attend a goodwill function hosted by the SA Ambassador on 10 Oct 16.

  • Depart for the RSA on 11 Oct 16.

  • Arrive RSA 12 Oct16.

POSSIBLE INTERNATIONAL RESERVE PARTICIPATION FOR 2016

CHANGE OF COMPETITION DATE

 

  • Due to the competition date being close to the Financial Year End, there has been a request to move the date of the competition.

  • For 2017 the competition will be moved to 17 to 22 April 2017.

DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

 

  • 3 Training camps were held in Potchefstroom under the auspices of RMR for the team members.

  • The Eye Gym program of the University of Stellenbosch was also utilized with excellent results.

  • Training aids were also purchased to facilitate development.

  • SAARSA sponsored the participation of 11 development shottists at the SA National Combat Rifle Championships held earlier this year where the members performed exceptionally well.
